NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer vs Stick Concealer - Swatches and Review

Today is another post on my search for the HG (Holy Grail) concealer. I'll be reviewing and comparing the new Radiant Creamy Concealer, which has been hyped up all over the place, with the older more traditional Stick Concealer. For me, the main issues that I struggle with is creasing and cakiness. Especially when those pesky spots pop up, you really want something that will cover, and not highlight dry skin areas. Oh and for reference I am matched to Chantilly (Ivory) in both products.

So let me compare....

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

The key to this product is all in the title. It is indeed radiant and creamy and it does very well at concealing. It works lovely under the eyes and around the nose, but sadly when it comes to dry or scaly spotty areas, it seems to grab to the dry areas and make them appear a bit too noticeable for my liking. Now, I think we all know the stage of a pimple, when it's coming up, but not quite there and it's just an angry red spot *TMI?*..? Well it works lovely for this. It's very pigmented and easily dabbed onto the area. It's just not so great for the stage after this when it's dry and harder to cover up. I found it lifted the dry skin throughout the day and only seemed to highlight the problematic areas. I have tried this over all types of foundation and with/without primers and still face this issue. On the other hand, this does have good staying power and I do highly recommend this product, but not for those with very dry skin.

Nars Stick Concealer

Now onto the old faithful - the stick concealer. I wasn't initially a fan of this product after I just bought it, but it's growing on me. It is definitely a lighter coverage than the Radiant Creamy Concealer, but it is still buildable. I use this on my "No-makeup, makeup days" as it blends nicely into the skin, without looking cakey, but again can tend to emphasis dry patches. The only thing I would say is it needs to be set with a powder, otherwise it can slip and slide throughout the day.

So, if I had to choose or buy one again, which one, if either, would I buy again?
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. Despite it's downfalls, it really is a lovely concealer and one which many love. The pigmentation and blend-ability are two huge plus points which would spur me on to buy it again.

These can be purchased from Mecca. $36 for Nars Stick Concealer or $35 for Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer
