Make-Up Must Have: Skindinavia Make-Up Setting Sprays + Review

I've been quite dubious about make-up setting sprays in the past. But after a friend highly recommended I reconsidered, I thought I'd try out Skindinavia's products. Now as a side note, Skindinavia also make Urban Decay's setting sprays, so you may find they are quite similar..

To begin with, I'd like to stress how important a thorough shaking is. This is clearly where my downfall was in the past, so I'm glad I read the instructions! And if it's any indication of how they've worked for me, I've been using these daily for the past 2 months.

So how do I use them? After cleansing and applying sunscreen, I spray the Skindinavia Make-Up Primer Spray (link) liberally. I allow it to dry whilst I prime my lids. I then apply the rest of my makeup, minus mascara and spray the Skindinavia Make-up Finishing Spray (link) over my entire face. I find it's definitely worth applying mascara last for two reasons. Firstly, this eliminates the issue of mascara transferring - think wet panda, and also I found it also helped to improve the wear of my mascara throughout the day, especially when not using waterproof formulas.

The spray that took the most getting used to was the Moisture Lock Make-Up Finishing spray (link). I tried applying after my make-up, but to be quite honest, I didn't really notice that much of a difference. That "dewy" look wasn't quite there and it didn't increase the longevity as much as I would have liked. The best way to use this product I found was to apply before make-up and work my foundation in whilst my skin was still wet. The other product I wouldn't mind trying from their line is the Bridal version of their Finishing spray, I recently heard a rave review from Goo Roo Beauty saying it increased longevity and also even gave a soft focus finish to the skin.

Overall, I'm so glad I did give these setting sprays a second change and I certainly will be repurchasing them once they run out!

These products retail for about $14.00 AUD for 20ml and $39.95 for 118ml (link).
