Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer... Worth the hype?

So I may have been a little crazed about having this one in my hands. In fact, I think I checked the Mecca Cosmetica website consecutively for about 2 months since the launch date waiting for it to be restocked. And yes, if you missed that day window, I'm sad to inform you that they are now out of stock of most of the shades again (link). So was it worth it for a concealer worth $36 and those minutes of my life I'll never get back?

It's been compared to the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer all over the web and I can't agree that it's exactly the same. To me, the Urban Decay's offering is less creamy and perhaps doesn't blend quite so well. I would describe it as a light weight, medium to full coverage concealer. If you suffer from dry skin areas around your eyes and nose, which is usually where I need the most coverage, then this had the tendency to bunch up around any flakes and just wasn't quite as smooth as I would like. I will say that this lasted quite nicely throughout the day however, but it did involve a bit of effort in terms of application.

L-R: Urban Decay Naked Concealer in Fair Neutral Swatch, blended. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly Swatch, blended.

The shade range is a triumph for me being in the pale end of the spectrum and I found the Fair Neutral to be the perfect shade. It's a nice neutral, as the name would suggest, and doesn't lean too pink or orange like most on the market do.

Overall it is a lovely concealer, but for me I do really think it's a different product to that of the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer and I'm ok with this. I didn't buy it as a dupe and I'm glad it offers something different. In hind sight, it probably wasn't exactly worth the amount of effort involved to procure this, but I'm glad I have it anyway.
