An Eye-Makeup Remover to Remove Them All...

If you read my recent post on my personal experience with eyelash extensions, you'll know that aftercare was a huge issue for me. Luckily I was contacted by Prolong Lash (link) who wanted me to try their eye-makeup remover/cleanser (link)... And I'm so glad I did.

Having oily eyelids, I do not survive the day without waterproof or tubing mascara's. Especially when it comes to living in a warmer climate, the dreaded smudge can occur within minutes. However... removal can be difficult to say the least and scrubbing those eyes won't do me any favours in 10 years time.  And although duo phase or oil based removers do work well, they often leave a film over my eyes and can sometimes feel unpleasant to say the least. As well as this, oil based removers aren't suitable for use with eyelash extensions and can actually make them fall off sooner than they should. Then you're faced with left over make-up on your lashes and the whole things becomes  mess.

Prolong Lash is set apart from all others on the market I've tried because, as they say it "eliminates protein build up, debris, makeup and dead skin cells from the eyelash base, extending the life of your eyelash extensions" and I would agree. It doesn't contain oil, glycerine, glycerol or essences and a little bit goes a long way. I'm talking one two to three drops MAX.

When you have eyelash extensions on, or without, you simply place a few drops on a wet hand, lather and work through your lashes. I use gentle stroking motions with my finger tips and even water-proof make up comes off with ease.  When I don't want to stand over a sink, I simply wet a cotton pad with some water, put two drops on, fold in half and disperse the cleanser through. I hold the cotton pad to closed eyelids and gently work through lashes.

The only thing I will say, is that because it the Prolong Lash Cleanser is so concentrated, less really is more. I did find I had some sensitivity when using more than a few drops, but this was non-existent when using the recommended amount.  I also found using less worked better - win win in my books. So overall a fantastic product whether you have eyelash extensions or not.

Prolong Lash Cleanser retails for $19.95 for 100ml (link)
