Burberry Fresh Glow Foundation & Luminous Fluid Base Review and Swatches

I was so excited when I received my package from Buberry (link), but well, I feel a bit let down. It's not that I hate these products, but I'm not exactly in love with them either. Whilst the packaging is lovely and a joy to use with the pump dispenser, I still want the product to be equally lovely and enjoyable.

My biggest gripe is that, for me, they simply don't wear well. I wasn't expecting long lasting, but after a few hours of application I find the foundation pooling in fine lines, pores and generally looking a mess. This was particularly the case when combining the foundation with the Fresh Glow primer. I looked into other options as well, from silicone based to spray etc. and I did find that the lighter Skindinavia Primer spray worked best. However, this foundation does not set and is on the more emollient side of things. So best to steer clear if you are oily prone, however I'm leaning more dry these days and the wearability still wasn't great.

The foundation alone is quite nice. Medium coverage with a satin finish. However, with a limited shade range and at $75 AUD I'd expect a little more than nice. I just managed to get away with using the shade No. 11 (link) on my very porcelain skin, but blending and light application was key.

For me, I found that the Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in Nude Radiance 01 (link), didn't sit the best under the foundation and was actually best mixed together or applying on top of the foundation - on the cheek bones, cupid bow etc. If you want a subtle sheen and glow, you may enjoy this, but again I could take or leave it.

If you're undecided whether to splurge or save on these products, I'd be inclined to save. If you are after a more luxurious foundation with a glowy finish, I'd recommend the YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation.

Have you tried these products? What did you think?
